BFF
As Melinda creates her paper sculptures, a story often emerges. She felt that this cardinal and young buck would be best of friends. The cardinal loves to catch a ride on this young buck's antlers as they explore the forest for nearby treats. They become "Best Friends Forever" as the go on many adventures, trading their latest stories.
Melinda created this miniature paper sculpture using only paper and paint. The tiny red cardinal has individually hand cut feathers and the deer's fur coat is created with very thinly cut pieces of paper. After it is cut, the paper is attached to the deer's paper body. As you can imagine, it is a long, tedious, and slow process taking many hours, but also Melinda's favorite part of the entire process. After the deer received his furry coat, Melinda painted it in watercolor and gouache.
The 3D paper sculpture, made completely out of paper and paint is mounted to wood and arrives ready to hang up on your wall when it arrives. The miniature sculpture measures 3.25" high x 2.25" wide x 2.5" deep.
